Lithuanian forward Arnoldas Kulboka is heading towards the exit door of Bilbao and is discussing a scenario in which he will pay a buyout to the club in order to become a free agent and explore his options, according to Eurohoops sources.
One of Kulboka’s potential options is signing a two-way contract with the Charlotte Hornets, Eurohoops has also learned.
The Hornets have owned Kulboka’s rights since 2018 when they selected him with the 55th overall pick in the NBA Draft. He was coming off a breakout season in the Basketball Champions League with Orlandina (on loan from Brose Bamberg), during which he was named Best Young Player of the competition.
After a couple of interesting performances in the 2018 Summer League, Kulboka, now 23, returned to Bamberg and then joined Bilbao in 2019. Last season he averaged 9.2 points (shooting 42.5 percent on 4.6 3-point attempts per game) and 4.0 rebounds in 22:41 minutes over 33 games of the Spanish ACB League which is widely considered the best domestic championship in Europe.
